In one sentence
Lumen supports free creation, but you may not use it to generate images, videos, or chat content that is unlawful, harms others, or infringes others' rights; violating content is blocked and offending accounts are acted upon.
1. Scope and principles
This Content Policy applies to the prompts you enter on Lumen (the "Service") and to all images, videos, chats, and other content generated from them. It is part of theTerms of Service.
We encourage authentic, creative expression while holding to three bottom lines: do not break the law, do not harm others, and do not infringe others' lawful rights. Where creative freedom conflicts with these three bottom lines, the bottom lines prevail.
2. Prohibited content
Whether by generating, editing, or chatting, you may not use the Service to create, upload, or distribute the following:
- Any content that violates applicable laws and regulations, including politically sensitive, terrorism-related, or violent extremist propaganda
- Pornographic, sexually suggestive, or any form of sexualized content involving minors (zero tolerance)
- Real or highly realistic extreme gore, abuse, self-harm, or content encouraging suicide
- Hateful, discriminatory, or degrading content based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, and the like
- Non-consensual intimate imagery, sexualized deepfakes, and content used for harassment, bullying, or doxxing
- Disinformation used to defraud or mislead the public, and forged IDs, receipts, official documents, or others' signatures
- Content that infringes others' copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets
- Malicious code, phishing material, or content intended to intrude on or damage computer systems
3. Real people, celebrities, and likeness
When generating or editing recognizable real people, you must have the appropriate authorization, and you may not use it to mislead, defame, sexualize, or commercially impersonate.
You may not generate content that leads the public to believe a real person (including public and political figures) actually said or did something; for legitimate uses such as satire or commentary, clearly label it as fictional or a derivative work to avoid misidentification.
4. Protection of minors
We have zero tolerance for any violating content involving minors. Once the system identifies suspected child sexualization content, it will immediately block it, permanently ban the relevant account, preserve necessary evidence, and report to the competent authorities and relevant agencies as required by law.
Even in "cartoon," "anime," or "AI fiction" forms, any sexualized depiction of minors is likewise prohibited.
5. Additional rules for video and chat
Video generation
Video content spreads more widely, so in addition to all the rules above, it may not be used to fabricate news events or others' public statements, or to create realistic clips that could trigger social panic or mislead public opinion.
Chat
The chat feature may not be used to induce illegal activity, provide actionable guides for making weapons or dangerous items, evade moderation, generate any of the prohibited content above, or impersonate Service staff or others to deceive.
6. Intellectual property and copyright
You must ensure that the reference material you upload has a lawful source and right of use. Do not deliberately replicate the signature style of living artists for commercial impersonation, or generate content that is substantially similar to protected works or characters and may infringe.
For the ownership of rights in your inputs and generated results, see the "Content and Intellectual Property" section of the Terms of Service.
7. Content moderation
To enforce this policy, the Service applies "automated review plus human review when necessary" to generation requests:
- Every prompt is reviewed for content safety before being sent to the model; high-risk categories are refused
- For results suspected of violations, we may conduct human review and a secondary determination
- Moderation prioritizes protecting minors and preventing illegality and serious harm; some misjudgments are possible, and you can give feedback through the appeals channel
Moderation does not change where responsibility for content lies: you are always primarily responsible for the legality and compliance of the content you create.
8. Reporting and appeals
If you find content that violates this policy, or believe your content was wrongly blocked, please contact us via the support email[email protected]and provide the task ID, screenshots, and other information where possible.
We usually handle reports and appeals within 3 business days; reports involving the safety of minors are prioritized and expedited.
9. Handling violations
Depending on the nature and severity of the violation, we may take one or more of the following measures:
- Block or delete the relevant content
- Warn the account, restrict certain features, or limit generation frequency
- Suspend up to permanently ban the account
- Report to the competent authorities and cooperate with investigations as required by law
For accounts banned for violating this policy, remaining credits are non-refundable; the general refund rules are in the "Refund Policy" section of the Terms of Service.
10. Policy updates and contact
We may update this policy in response to changes in laws and regulations, the risk landscape, and product evolution. Significant changes will be announced via in-app notices or email, the updated version will be published on this page with its effective date, and continued use constitutes acceptance.
If you have any questions or suggestions about this policy, feel free to email us at[email protected].
